Position: Group Product Data Specialist

Reports to: Group Ecommerce Manager

Place in the organization:
The Group Product Data Specialist will report to the Group Ecommerce Manager of Jumbo Group.
The role is part of the Group Ecommerce Team within the Digital Transformation department.

Responsibilities

As the Product Data Specialist, you are a key contributor when it comes to data and content quality. You will play an essential role in strengthening and improving our digital touchpoints and those of our Retail/Ecommerce customers. This role has a dual focus: you are responsible for facilitating product data management as well as act as product owner for PIM, DAM and our product data syndication systems.

The responsibility of being Product Data Specialist within the Jumbo Group include closely monitoring the quality of our product data and all related process. You identify issues and raise them with the relevant stakeholders, but also find opportunities for improvement (in data, applications, and processes). You will collaborate closely with Brand, Product Development and Operations teams, providing them with useful insights and opportunities to enhance the relevancy and quality of the product data and assets being produced.

You are ideally positioned to identify improvement opportunities as you have a comprehensive view of the entire pipeline. You will actively work with our consumer facing touch points as well as help our retailers be successful on theirs. Working closely with your colleagues in Ecom/Digital you also contribute to managing our websites, optimising our A+ content on Amazon, support data feeds for our retailers and support new product launches. This role is vital in helping our consumers successfully engage with our products and transact through our retailers, marketplaces and in the future potentially directly.

Key deliverables and assignments

  • Assist and support policies for effective data management in the PIM and product data related applications.
  • Act as product owner within the project team as we optimise PIM in the Jumbo Group and in its subsidiaries.
  • Lead our new DAM project (selection and implementation)
  • Monitor product data quality and processes to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data.
  • Setup and distribute reports and dashboards to create awareness as well as pro-actively share insights based on the data and your observations.
  • Support the publication and management of product data and related content on our websites and marketplaces.
  • Establish rules and procedures for data sharing with and between functions, management, external stakeholders etc.
  • Support and train people in the daily use of our PIM system and other product data tools.
  • Monitor and analyze information and data systems and evaluate their performance to discover ways of enhancing them (new technologies, upgrades etc.).

Why this job is (not) for you

  • You enjoy working in an entrepreneurial organisation with many opportunities to grow the organisation and yourself.
  • You thrive in bringing structure to unclear situations. If you need established structure and guard rails to start with, this role might not be for you.
  • You like working with a diverse group of colleagues across different countries and don’t mind traveling to meet them.
  • If you prefer political games more than board games think twice before applying.
  • If you only like defining and steering processes without implementing and executing them, you might want to consider a more corporate organisation.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Marketing/Business administration or Information management/data science or any related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in Digital/Ecommerce (Data management and/or content management).
  • Excellent understanding of data administration and management functions (collection, analysis, distribution etc.).
  • Proficient with CMS, PIM, DAM and other data/content management tools (experience with Akeneo and Products Up would be a plus).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Access, Word etc.).
  • An analytical mindset with problem-solving skills.
  • Fluent professional English, French or Spanish notions could be a plus.

Personal qualities

  • Self-starter with an intrapreneurial mindset.
  • Passionate about data, content and the digital domain.
  • Structured and accurate even under time constraints.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills – both verbally and in writing.
  • Team player who likes to build strong relationships, collaborate and work hard while having fun at it.
  • Flexible and quick to adapt to new situations.
  • A hands-on approach and down-to-earth character with the ability to handle complex situations efficiently.
